Numerous relics have been recovered from the crash site of the B-24 bomber Harmful Lil Armful, located at a place known as Pey du Haut, in the municipality of Queyrac.

Some of these artifacts bear serial numbers or part numbers. These numbers are unique and make it possible to accurately determine the origin of these components within the aircraft. Identification also extends to sub-assemblies such as radios, machine-gun mounts, engines, and other equipment each of which had its own distinct part numbers.

The assignment of part numbers was dynamic, with numbers being added or modified over time as changes and improvements were made to the bomber. As this aircraft was built at the Ford Motor Company’s Willow Run plant, the identification prefix “GK” was used for parts associated with assembly at that facility.​ As the aircraft was an American B-24H Liberator bomber, the next part of the designation was “32.” Additional letters were then added to identify the specific component and its location within the aircraft, such as the cockpit, wings, engines, and other sections.
